#FBF People only post the happy times on social media. But let me share what was really happening behind my smile. We were in Punta Cana for a friend's wedding and I'd been warned not to drink the water. I didn't! BUT I ate salad, fresh vegetables, and brushed my teeth, not thinking about the fact that I was exposing myself to the water. Within a day, me and countless other wedding guests got violently ill. Even the groom got sick! Our symptoms included, but were not limited to, agonizing stomach cramps, fatigue, non- stop vomiting, explosive and uncontrollable diarrhea! As a result of not eating for days and spending half the trip curled over the toilet, I lost 8 lbs and a slight hint of abs miraculously appeared. I said all of this to say, take social media posts at face value. You don't know what kind of sh💩t someone is going through. #literally —Naja Circa 2015

Today, I decided to back away from my desk and just take a walk... Last week I got tapped to be a guest on a podcast with a lot of visibility. Like, A LOT. As a dope bonus, I made fast friends with one of the hosts! A very rare occurrence in this instaworld of full of opportunists. Simultaneously, my team has shown up and shown out to scale my biz! We've been burning the midnight oil forreal. My goal has been to take a step back from the day-to-day management of #vipstepmom but it just keeps growing. Growth is good. We've built landing pages, new sales funnels, eBooks, and I'm seeking to train more Coaches. Because I'm getting an influx of amazing Clients that need the Naja touch. I also started a TikTok for my #vipstepmom community. Yup, I caved. Because of overwhelm and lack of motivation, I've not nurtured #blendedandblack since last summer. I need people to get that page poppin. The numbers are already there, my energy is not. Not right now. Know anybody? My podcast, #iknowimcrazywithnajahall has surpassed 200K+ downloads. I produce, edit, and host it. Issa lot. Ya girl has to just step away and take a long walk from time to time.

You all know I usually post random thoughts while traveling so here's today's... I can't believe I used to be so ashamed of the negative connotation of Black people, chicken, and watermelon, that I wouldn't eat two of my faves in predominantly nonBlack spaces. The last thing I wanted was to have use all my good ole AAVE on some dunce that tried to throw a chicken-n-watermelon joke. Also, I quit using the #QueensEnglish eons ago. Ion even know the Queen (except I still need her face off our money) and African-American Vernacular English is literally how my folks talk! It's my heritage and I'm VERY proud. I take it to board rooms, my podcast, with my Clients. I think it's cool to be bilingual (yes AAVE means we speak a whole 'nother language) but I don't conform anymore. I ain't gotta! I have my thoughts on nonBlack humans using #blaccent though. Will share later. Tired of typing. Oh and @filausa what's up!?! I want ALL your shoes, especially the platform sneaker ones.
